During the clinical trial, one-year of Ketamine infusion treatments will be provided free-of-charge to eligible veterans suffering from PTSD.

Our goal is to make ketamine treatment affordable for veterans suffering from PTSD. Ketamine’s ability to dramatically reduce PTSD symptoms have been proven, but the effects do not always last a long time, requiring numerous maintenance infusions sometimes as many as one infusion every two weeks. Unfortunately, insurance companies do not cover ketamine infusions and can end up costing veterans between $5,000 and $10,000 annually to be treated. CureALL Research Foundation is working with Arizona Ketamine Treatment and Research Institute (AKTARI) to develop new treatment protocols and research ways for ketamine to have a longer lasting effect. Reduction in patient cost will result from reducing the number of ketamine infusions for the same or better results.

To help further reduce costs, in association with other research institutions and medical facilities, we will compile data to show insurance companies that there are real and sustainable benefits to ketamine infusion therapy for patients suffering from PTSD. Reduction in patient cost will result from infusions becoming a covered benefit by Medicare, AHCCCS, VA, and commercial health insurance plans. Insurance companies need to know that this is worth covering and in many cases will reduce patient’s dependence on other expensive medications.

We are here to help people that don’t have options! Ketamine infusions should not be priced out of reach for the general population and with your help, we can improve thousands of veterans’ lives! #VeteransPTSD @cureallresearch @arizonaketamine]]>
<![CDATA[Antimicrobial Resistance: What Can We Do?]]>Mon, 09 May 2016 18:49:20 GMThttp://cureallresearchfoundation.org/blog/antimicrobial-resistance-what-can-we-doPicture
One of the concerning phenomenons in scientific research at the moment is antimicrobial resistance. But what exactly is antimicrobial resistance? You may have heard about the term antibiotic resistance, which is when bacteria changes in such a way that reduces the efficacy of antibiotics. What people do not know is that viruses, fungi, and parasites are also combating many of the drugs people use today. If this resistance continues, treatments that currently allow people to live a normal, healthy life will eventually cease to work. So how, exactly, can the average person help the situation? Here are some simple tips to consider:

✵WASH YOUR HANDS!! Stay healthy, people.
✵Get vaccinated. Update your vaccines. Your immune system and your sore arm will survive.
✵Only use antimicrobial drugs (i.e. antibiotics) when your doctor prescribes them. In other words, don’t use your mother’s leftover Z-pak because you have a runny nose.
✵Even if you feel great, do not just stop your treatment in the middle of the course of time. Remember that it is your medicine that is making you feel great. Make sure to complete the entire treatment in the prescribed amount of time.
✵Do not share!! Yes, this may seem counterintuitive, as we have been taught to share since we were children. Trust me on this one; your friend is better off going to the doctor and getting a full prescription.

With a little help from everybody, we can make a truly positive impact on the effort to tackle resistance! Stay healthy, stay golden, and stay tuned for future project updates and more health tips.
